Thanks to all who came out and brought projects with them!
I made a post from the meeting regarding voting in a new Chatelaine and a new Herald at the next meeting. Then the discussion turned to Quest for Camelot. The theme this year is "Quest for Camelot: Medieval Legends". I am planning on having at least three A&S competitions this year - one specifically for the youth (17 and under, with subcategories under that), the usual Populace Choice, and, if I can drum up enough judging support, a judged Arts & Sciences competition.
Kris suggested a cooking competition which was met with much acceptance and she will be heading that up. There was discussion about an Iron Chef style competition. More details will be posted as they are agreed upon.
I would also like to see a bardic competition, and will be contacting people who I hope will be able to help me with that. I would like to see not only stories, poems, and songs from the period, but also SCA legends, songs that sound period but aren't (there have been many of these written by SCA folk), and filks.
For upcoming arts & sciences meetings, both at the Library and at General Beadle, I am hoping to start working on various things that we will need for Quest - banners, basic tunics for Gold Key, gifts for our royalty and any that may be visiting. If you are willing to help with any of these please let me know. Three and a half months seems like plenty of time but I just know it'll go by like a rocket.
See you Sunday!
